Write for Us

We take contributions from people who know the mechanics. The bar is evidence, not word count.

What we are looking for

Work from people who have actually operated in this sector — built the integration, run the compliance programme, priced the book, sat through the audit. The pieces we most want explain a mechanism that is usually described vaguely, precisely.

Strong pitches tend to look like:

  • How a specific rail, rule or product actually works, from someone who has implemented it.
  • A comparison of options in a category, with pricing read at source and criteria stated up front.
  • What a new regulation or rulebook change requires in practice, with the primary text linked.
  • A post-mortem of something that went wrong, written so others can avoid it.

The evidence standard

Contributions are held to the same rules as our own work, set out in the methodology:

  • At least one hyperlinked primary source per 500 words.
  • Every rate, fee or limit read from the provider's own published materials, with the date you read it.
  • No claimed hands-on testing that did not happen.
  • No price forecasts, and no telling readers what to buy, sell or borrow.
  • Any commercial interest in the subject disclosed to us before we commission.

We will fact-check what you send. If a figure cannot be traced to a source, it comes out.

What gets declined

Most submissions are declined for the same handful of reasons, so here they are plainly:

  • The piece exists to place a link. We can tell, and it is an immediate no.
  • Generic explainer content assembled from other explainers, with nothing added.
  • Undisclosed sponsorship by the product being praised.
  • Advice-shaped content telling readers what to do with their money.
  • Anything promising or implying a return.

A submission written to place a link is not improved by being well written. If you want a link, the advertise page is the honest route and it is priced accordingly.

Terms

Contributors are credited under the relevant desk or under their own name, depending on the piece and their preference. External links in contributions are nofollow by default; exceptions are editorial decisions, not something a contributor can request.

We edit for accuracy, structure and house style. You see the edit before it publishes.

Pitching

Send a short pitch to editorial@capitaloutpost.com: the argument in two or three sentences, what evidence you have for it, and what you have done that makes you the person to write it. Full drafts are welcome but a pitch is faster for both of us.
